It is my pleasure to announce that I have appointed the Venerable Peter Crosby to be the Incumbent of the Area Parish of the St. Lawrence and Archdeacon of Stormont effective September 1, 2020.

I also write to announce that I have appointed the Reverend Colin McFarland to be Associate Incumbent of your parish effective immediately.

Your wardens and members of synod have given their unanimous and enthusiastic endorsement to these two appointments, and I am very grateful to them, and to Archdeacon Doug Richards, for their conscientious assistance and support.

The appointment of Peter and Colin represents continuity and renewal for your parish. Colin is well known and beloved by your parish community, and you are all aware of his many gifts. In his new role as Associate Incumbent, Colin will work closely with Peter to oversee and develop the life and ministry of your parish as a whole. Colin and Keltie will continue to maintain a residence in your community.

Peter is known to many of you as he began his ordained ministry in Cornwall in 1985 and later served for a number of years in Long Sault. He is a respected senior priest in our diocese, and brings a wealth of parish experience to your ministry. Peter and Maria look forward to making their home along the Seaway.

Please warmly congratulate Colin on his well-deserved promotion, and extend a hearty welcome to Peter and Maria in due course. This is good news for everyone!
